The Denver Black Arts Festival is coming to City Park in the "Meadow", JULY 10, 11 and 12. The SOS Band is appearing. HMB is playing Sunday from 4pm to 6pm. Art works of all kinds... sculpures, wood carving, paintings and prints; with clothes, hats, food, music, T shirts and all the diversity that is Denver. Family fun while supporting the arts community of Denver. I'll be there looking for your face in the crowd.

This is an area that has never had a school. We take so much for granted here in America. Education is a privilege that many children in Ghana will never experience. The Sisters of Loretto and the Daughters of the Holy Trinity want to provide this priveledge, this gift of education to the chidren of Akokoamong. I invite you to go to www.lorettocommunity.org. On the home page (at the top, second from left) click on Mission & Work, go to Global Loretto, then to Sister Communities FST Ghana.... Scroll down to see the progression of the school. Come back to the home page, click on the Rhythm and Drums icon and get information on the July 11, 2009 benefit. I'd encourage you to get your tickets soon if you want to attend the concert and experience the joy of having the Akokoamong school become a reality. The school will cost $760,000, and we have raised approximately $500,000. We expect to raise the remaining $260,000 through this concert.
